WNile, I don’t think they do have a fun time in prison; but all of this got me to thinking… second offense….third….or

I think just getting and/or keeping them there is a problem.
Wasn’t it some judge in ?Virginia? last year that kept doing that (early release/light sentence)…and O’Reilly drug him through the mud?

I wonder what the vote would have been for: one strike, mandatory life sentence with no possibility of parole?

It should be at least that.

Look at the serial offenders- the rapists who then go on and on…until they add murder to their to-do list.
Most of those “big cases” you hear about: abduction-rape-murders….the offender has a list a mile long of children he’s terrorized & the small amount of time served is just sickening.

WTF is wrong with people? What’s wrong with this system?
Are they tossing the violent offenders back onto the street to make room for guys serving life sentences for selling dime bags?! WTF?

We always say pedophiles don’t last long in prison — I wonder if that’s really true. Gotta hope so.

Why would they only seek the death penalty after the 2nd child rape? WTF? That’s like saying “The first one was a freebie, but now, enough’s enough!”

What the hell does Kennedy think is a ‘proportional punishment’? How far is his head up his ass to write that sentence? He’s supposed to be a moderate. Makes me wonder how Sandra Day O’Connor would have voted.

Is the rape of an adult punishment by death yet? I believe it should be as well… in addition to children — a child and an adult both suffer incredibly during the act.

Rape kills part of the soul and I don’t think our tax dollars should be spent rehabilitating people who have hurt people so significantly that they will never be the same again.
